Green Acres Golf Course features 18 unique holes carefully designed to reflect the challenges and choices the best golfers expect. The course design includes several stone bunkers in the fashion of classic courses St Andrews and Royal St George’s in the UK. Golfers will notice this massive bunker looming near where the 10th fairway makes a dog-leg turn to the left.

The experience at Green Acres Golf Course reflects the authentic golf atmosphere of classic courses such as Pebble Beach in CA, Augusta in GA and St Andrews in Scotland. Golfers play individually or in groups with friends or other golfers they meet on the course.

As in real-life golf, Second Life™ residents move freely and naturally anywhere they wish on the golf course. This contrasts dramatically with other computer golf games in which players can neither see themselves nor are able to move anywhere they wish on the course. Golfers see a small on-screen display which enables them to select the proper club, aim the shot, and chose the desired strength. The golf ball responds in a highly naturalistic way to wind conditions and the terrain where the ball lands and rolls.

Visitors experience such landmarks as the California Lighthouse on the northwest coast, the Oranjestad windmill, and the historic gold mine ruins.
